Participatory Media:
Self-Image and Perception in Women

My undergraduate Honors thesis examines audience engagement on participatory media platforms by studying how involved audiences are with these platforms and the effects of audience engagement, particularly in regards to women’s body image and self-perception.

I analyzed content on Rookie Magazine, Interrupt Magazine and Buzzfeed to better understand the participation modes and practices of women and young girls when interacting with all three publications.
